Imagine a creative world where artists are given the freedom to express their ideas in any way they wish. Imagine having the liberty to express their views without public or government restrictions. Of not having to worry about who is stealing their ideas or manipulating their creations. Wouldn’t this freedom turn more and more people to embrace arts, thus enriching their culture and civilization at large?
Well, that world seems possible and not far away. TRON’s decentralized Internet is set to metamorphose the entertainment industry.
Filliped by a solid backing of Chinese investors, Tron’s clear long-term vision with the promise of lower costs makes it an encouraging endeavor in the blockchain space. They are all set to completely transform the way the entertainment industry works. This, it will do by absorbing the principles of cryptocurrency into the way of publishing digital content in its various forms.
Tron was founded with an aim to build a free, global digital content entertainment system with distributed storage technology. A network that allowed easy and cost-effective sharing of digital content.
Ownership of content
Today, an artist can copyright his content to protect it. They can sue a person who distributes it without his consent, but this is not an easy task as there is no official designation of ownership between the artist and that piece of publication. TRON, along with its Main Net, is fast establishing a platform for content creators that provides total ownership, in exchange, to use and process payments through TRX.
Eliminating the middlemen
TRON is also looking at ways to eliminate the middlemen who provide a platform for the promotion of content. Platforms like Youtube, Instagram and Apple are examples of such companies. These companies bring in their own laws on what is appropriate content and this could hamper the creativity of the artist. Apart from this they also charge a fee or take a percentage of the profits.
The advantage that TRON has over the other platforms is in its decentralization. The network does not have a central point that is susceptible to cyber attacks and downtimes. Due to the absence of a controlling central point, it becomes more secure and easy to manage.
No downtime or outages
Decentralization and blockchain would also eliminate downtimes or outages to access content.
Sometime in mid-October Youtube users faced a major disruption of its services. The outage lasted for more than two hours while youtube frantically tried to resolve the problem.
Users were not happy and weren’t going to take this lying down. They took to Twitter venting their frustrations. Some in the United States even called the emergency number 911 to report the outage. The first thought the users familiar with the blockchain technology was probably of TRON as a worthy option. Tron showed a keen interest in assisting Youtube in avoiding such occurrences in future.
The scale of disruption that Tron is looking at in the entertainment industry is phenomenal. Most of today’s content is censored and not in the control of the creator. Imagine then a network like TRON which gives the control right back in the hands of the creator. This would completely free up the entertainment world and beat the growing problems of censorship and data centralization.
